Most experts recommend that Medicare patients review their coverage every year to make sure they’re taking full advantage of everything offered. One of the biggest changes a person can make to their Medicare is switching to a plan that includes prescription drug coverage.
A recent study showed that the average Medicare subscriber could save almost $1,000 each year just by switching to a Medicare plan that has prescription coverage.
During the Annual Election Period each year, Costco Medicare customers can sign up for a new plan, or make changes to their current plan, including joining a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan, changing from one Medicare prescription drug plan to a different one, joining a Medicare Advantage Plan with prescription drug coverage included, or switching from a Medicare Advantage plan that does not include drug coverage to a Medicare Advantage plan that does have prescriptions included.
The Medicare Annual election period runs from October 15 to December 7 each year.
Costco Pharmacy has paired with eHealth Medicare to develop a Medicare comparison tool that lets users search through different plans to find the one that’s perfect for them. This tool allows Medicate subscribers to search for plans available in their area and see them side by side, comparing things like premium, copay, ratings, and out of pocket drug costs.
