Online Safelink Application
- Logon to begin your SafeLink application and check your eligibility for the program
- Eligibility for this program varies from state to state
- There is a limit of one Safelink phone per household
SafeLink, provided by TracFone Wireless, is a program where eligible households can receive a low cost prepaid cell phone, without entering into a contract and without any extra fees. In short, it’s a way for people that couldn’t otherwise afford it to have a cell phone at no cost. With technology today, a cell phone is crucial for success and safety, and nobody should be without one because of their credit history or their fear of entering into a confusing contract.
The actual number of minutes you’ll receive depends on what state you live in, and what you qualify for. You can purchase additional TracFone minutes from any retailer if you’d like more though. You will need to requalify for the program each year.
To find out if you qualify for Safelink, fill out the application today! It’s completely free, and should only take a few minutes to finish. Once you’re done, you’ll find out where you stand. Eligibility is different for each state, but there are some general guidelines. You must be at, below, or just slightly above your state’s definition of “poverty” and you must qualify for a program like SSI, SNAP, or Section 8. In most cases, your eligibility will be confirmed through a database. If your information is not in this database, you may be asked to submit documentation that proves your eligibility.
If you are approved, remember that only one person in a household can have a Safelink cell phone. A “household” is defined as a group of people that live together in one dwelling and share income and expenses, whether they’re related or not.
