The Pizza Factory came about in the 1970s, when a group of friends traveled to southern Utah and found there wasn’t a place to get a great slice of pizza anywhere. Sensing an opportunity, the first Pizza Factory restaurant opened in 1974 in Cedar City, Utah. The location was a success, and other stores were soon added. The owners wanted to expand, so more people could enjoy their pizza, but they made a point to never expand so quickly that quality was compromised. There are now six different locations.
